In Pune, the Chairman of DRDO, Samir Kamat, announced that the organization's production value of defense systems had exceeded Rs5.8 lakh crore. He stated that this value is expected to double in the next five years as DRDO's systems are being utilized by the Indian armed forces and foreign countries, including those in Europe. Kamat made these remarks as the chief guest during the convocation ceremony at the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) near Khadakwasla. He highlighted the growing applications of DRDO-developed systems in the Indian armed forces and the increasing interest from foreign countries. These systems include Brahmos missiles, radars, sonars, advanced towed artillery guns (ATAGS), and Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers, which have garnered attention from Southeast Asian countries and European nations.
